Odoo for companies that operate in Venezuela, with the localization the SENIAT expects

Home Odoo

Sales, purchasing, inventory, invoicing and accounting in one system, with purchase and sales ledgers, VAT and income tax withholdings and the BCV exchange rate working from day one. First I learn how your company works; then I give you the price, in writing. Never the other way around.

The localization

The Venezuelan part is not a patch: it lives inside the system

Odoo comes from Belgium and has never heard of an ISLR withholding. The Venezuelan localization is the house’s own, not a purchased module, and it is kept current when the SENIAT changes something.

  • Purchase and sales ledgers in the format the tax returns require, produced by the system itself, with no spreadsheet rework.
  • VAT and income tax (ISLR) withholdings, with their vouchers, both when your company withholds and when others withhold from you.
  • The BCV exchange rate loaded into the system, to work in reference dollars and in bolivars at the same time.
  • Updates when the SENIAT changes the rules, included while the monthly support is active.
How I work

Four steps, and the price arrives in the second one

1
Scoping
I ask how your company sells, buys, collects and files, and I ask for one sample month with its invoices. Without that there is no number, because it would be made up.
2
Written proposal
Scope, hours, price and timeline. One line states whether the Venezuelan localization is included or separate; never hidden.
3
Go-live
I configure the system, load your data and train your team until it runs on its own. The system is set up in your company’s name.
4
Closing, with lessons
We review together what worked and what needs adjusting, and I leave the agreed monthly support in place if you want it.
What it costs

What it costs: After the scoping

I do not give a number before the answers and the sample month. The reference rate for estimates is $75 per scoping hour; the full project is quoted with that in hand. Prices do not include Venezuelan VAT; a tax invoice issued in Venezuela adds 16 %.
How you pay

How you pay: 40, 40 and 20

40 % on signing, 40 % at go-live and 20 % at the closing with lessons. Prices are in US dollars; when the company is in Venezuela they are payable in bolivars at the BCV rate of the day.
Licenses and hosting

Licenses and hosting: Paid directly to the vendor

Odoo has a free Community edition and an Enterprise edition with a per-user license. During the scoping we see which one fits you. Licenses, when there are any, and hosting are paid directly to the vendor; they do not go through me.
Monthly support

Monthly support: From $150

After go-live, from $150 a month with two hours included; each additional hour is $75. While the support is active, SENIAT-driven changes to the localization are included.

“I learned Odoo in Peru, and today it is how I make my living. That is where the habit of asking before quoting comes from.”Alexis Reyes, engineer, Venezuela

See it for yourself

Try Odoo before you talk to me

The vendor keeps a public demonstration, with sample data and without the Venezuelan localization. It is good for getting a feel for the system: the screens, the menus, the speed. The demo with Venezuelan data, with ledgers, withholdings and the BCV rate, is what I show you in our first conversation.

Before you write

What people ask first

How much does an Odoo implementation cost?
It depends on how your company works, and I know that after the scoping. The reference rate for estimates is $75 an hour; the full proposal arrives in writing and is paid 40 % on signing, 40 % at go-live and 20 % at closing.
Odoo Community or Enterprise?
Both exist and both work. Community is free; Enterprise has a per-user license paid directly to Odoo. During the scoping I tell you frankly which one fits your company.
Is the Venezuelan localization included?
The proposal says so in one line: included, or separate. What I do not do is bury it in the total.
What happens when the SENIAT changes something?
While the monthly support is active, changes to the localization are included. Without support, each adjustment is quoted.
I live abroad and my company is in Venezuela. Does that work?
Yes. The work is remote, by video call and with access to the system, and I answer in English or Spanish, Monday through Friday, Venezuela time (UTC-4). If I happen to be in your area and we plan ahead, we can meet in person.
Can I see a demo with Venezuelan data?
Yes, in our first conversation. The public demonstration at demo.odoo.com belongs to the vendor and does not carry the Venezuelan localization; mine does.
Shall we talk?
Tell me how your company works and we start the scoping
How many invoices a month, how many people, what you keep in spreadsheets today. With that I start the questions and tell you in writing what it costs.
